Tuition information below

As an introduction to school, this program is designed for young twos and children new to school. Each day offers an abbreviated school day — a class meeting; Montessori work cycle; outdoor play; specials like art and music; snack — all centered in our anti-bias and nature-based curriculum.

For our young students their classroom experiences are grounded in social/emotional learning. As they make new friendships, connect to their teachers, say goodbye to their primary caregivers, have moments of independence…they are gently becoming life long learners with a foundation of connection, trust, and kindness.

Process Art (Monday)

Using our imagination we will recreate and repurpose materials to inspire and become part of our play. Turn small boxes into mini cities, cardboard into boats, or bottle tops into beads!

Through reduce, reuse, recycle we’ll develop our environmental stewardship, along with our creativity and critical thinking.

Sensory Play (Tues)

During this afternoon we will make different recipes and use different materials to engage our senses and strengthen our body awareness and processing — playdough, slime, whip cream, water, chia seeds…you name it, lets get messy with it!

Nature & Mindfulness (Wed)

Children will develop mindfulness practices, have an introduction to the mind-body connection through breath, and engage with and spend time in the outdoors while caring for the natural world around school.

Dance & Movement (Thursday)

Through their bodies, children will explore music from around the world and from different eras. Through movement they will strengthen their gross motor skills and practice self expression with the art of dance.

Cooking (Fri)

Try new flavors, learn about new foods and ingredients, connect to new cultures, and get messy in the kitchen! Cooking is an opportunity to encourage new sensorial experiences.

Clay Modeling & Ceramics (on hold)

A class combining work with ceramic and polymers clays allowing children the opportunity to explore the possibilities of creating with different materials. The class will work with different hand building and glazing techniques, and experiment with form, shape and color.

Classes led by Seda of Little Hand Brooklyn.
