Music with Jon at Collective Kind is listening, movement, creation, connection, representation, and engages students in learning and understanding the diverse world around them.  With a decade and a half of experience in making music with littles, Jon seamlessly mixes the preschool classics with “pop” music during classes.  Classes follow a sort of seasonal curriculum: singing about the weather, seasons, celebrations, etc.  Incorporating what he calls “mini music theory,” through vocal and instrumental exploration, children learn scales, solfeggio, classical music terminology, and explore literacy and other languages.  Most importantly, Jon's main goal for his students is to help them grow their self confidence through learning and loving music!
